FAQs

Do you provide in-person or online therapy?

At the moment we provide online therapy only. This seems to be preferred for most clients because there isn’t any additional time commuting to a therapy office.

Is therapy right for me?

It all begins with an idea. Therapy can be so beneficial for everyone, whether it’s just to have a place to be heard and vent or it’s to learn and utilize coping skills or it’s to process trauma/feelings/events. Our motto is therapy can’t hurt.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we accept most major insurances. We accept Aetna, Cigna, Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, Oxford, Oscar, Magnacare, Harvard Pilgrim, UMR, United Healthcare. We are Out of Network with GHI, Emblem Health, NYSHIP but have a biller on staff who handles all partial reimbursement.

Who do you work with?

We see people of all ages from 8-88. We are licensed in New York and New Jersey, therefore we can only see people residing in those states. We have clients with all different jobs, family lives, and personality traits.

What can I expect from therapy?

Once you have made a decision to see a therapist, you still might be apprehensive about the process. Many people feel nervous before their first appointment, which is normal. Therapy is a shared journey; a shared process. And, although you and I will travel together, it is ultimately your journey and you will make your own decisions. I do not have answers to all your concerns, but I do have the ability to listen carefully and will ask thoughtful questions. Your answers to these questions will help shape the direction of our work. You can expect to be respected. You can expect that I will offer opinions and suggestions from time to time but I will not tell you what to do.

How long do appointments last?

Appointments typically last 40-55 minutes.
